Mary M. Wagner

Mary M. Wagner was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1992. Ms. Wagner received her B.B.A. in Finance from The University of Texas, and her M.B.A. and J.D. from the University of Houston. In addition to her admission to practice in Texas state courts, Ms. Wagner is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Ms. Wagner has worked in the areas of professional liability, products liability, nursing home liability, general civil litigation, and family law litigation. In 2007, Ms. Wagner became a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist (CITRMS). As a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, and the Greater Houston Society for Healthcare Risk Management, she concentrates her practice on civil litigation, primarily medical malpractice defense. Her practice covers all phases of defense of healthcare liability claims.

Kathleen (Katie) Evans

Katie joined Luccia-Evans as an associate attorney in August 2018. Her primary practice area is litigation, focusing on medical malpractice and personal injury.

Katie graduated from Texas Tech University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in International Business. While an undergraduate, she spent a semester interning for a Congressman in Washington, DC.  After graduation, Katie worked for Hewlett Packard until fall of 2015, when she began law school at the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, Katie interned for the 177th District Criminal Court. She competed in the Tom Newhouse Mediation Competition, taking second place. She also interned for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and Texas Children’s Hospital, in addition to clerking for a solo practitioner. Katie is a practice-ready attorney capable of litigating cases from pre-suit through completion.

Katie was born and raised in Houston, where she currently lives with her husband, Geoff Rittimann. They enjoy traveling, reading and playing with their two dogs, Bailey and Rooney.

Blessy J. Varghese

Ms. Varghese’s work focuses on defending healthcare providers that include physicians, nurses, allied staff, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations. Her practice includes defense of entities and healthcare providers in personal injury, premises liability and sexual assault civil lawsuits.

Ms. Varghese was born in Kuwait and raised in Dubai, UAE. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Kerala University in India. She worked as a Registered Nurse for six years in one of the leading hospitals in Houston before becoming a full-time attorney. Possessing a strong foundation in healthcare, her background as a nurse further enhanced her ability to navigate complex medical issues in litigation.

While in law school, Ms. Varghese gained valuable in-court experience working at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and clerked at various plaintiff and defense civil litigation firms. She was a law review member and a research assistant to Prof. Kevin Yamamoto, Tax Professor at South Texas College of Law. She spent her second-year summer interning at the Securities and Exchange Commission, gaining experience in whistle-blower claims and white-collar crimes.

Ms. Varghese began her career as a prosecutor at the Harris County District Attorney’s office. Ms. Varghese has first-chair trial experience while working at the District Attorney’s office.

Victor Ang

Victor Nathaniel Ang came from a medical family. His father is a gastroenterologist, and four of his aunts are nurses. He has the deepest respect for medical professionals who immigrate from the Philippines and other places to care for patients. He considers his practice in health care law as a way of paying homage to his family’s medical background.

Victor studied economics at Rice University. He earned his JD from the University of Pennsylvania and his LLM from Texas A&M University. After working several years in employment law and general litigation, Victor decided to start a career in health care law with Luccia & Evans, L.L.P. He enjoys using his legal skills and his knowledge of medical care in representing clients. He believes in the law firm’s mission of providing the highest quality representation to clients.

In his spare time, Victor volunteers in his church where they serve breakfast to homeless persons. He also likes to listen to Texas music.
